Joan Hancock

"I cannot praise and thank Dr Adedokun too highly for his care and treatment. After being in constant pain for two years, I saw Dr Adedokun and was offered a procedure which he thought would be suitable for me. Whilst explaining the benefits of this treatment, it was explained that there was no guarantee of complete success. I was grateful for his honesty and concern. I was seen quickly and following the procedure, I have had no sciatica since! The treatment and care has given me 10 years of my life back! Throughout the whole experience, I have also been helped by the excellent communication and understanding of Dr Adedokun's secretary."

Audrey McCarroll

“I recently saw Dr Adedokun for severe back pain. He was extremely professional and polite, and clearly explained treatment options, before we both decided on the most appropriate option for me. I am very pleased that he was my Consultant, and feel I received the best care possible from him and his team. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him!"

“I had a consultation with Dr Adedokun, and he was extremely helpful. He has referred me to a rheumatologist which I am sure is the right course of action."

Matthew Wilcock

"I had a nerve root block injection from Dr Adedokun to relieve the pain of a trapped nerve that had incapacitated me for a number of months. There was a little relief in around a week, but over the course of the following couple of months, the pain and pins and needles I was experiencing in my arm subsided, and I was able to get back to my normal activities. So far so good - thank you! "

Dermot Paterson

“I consulted Dr Adedokun because of long-term neuropathic pain caused by damage similar to an amputation of a limb. The pain was not controlled and apart from constant pain, there were spikes that were quite disabling. The consultation was face-to-face and I took a friend with me for support. I found Dr Adedokun very personable and I was immediately at ease which meant I could easily articulate my problem. My friend was also brought into the discussion which meant we could talk things through later. I was not rushed, given all the time I needed and had all the explanations I required. We talked through my problem and the possible solutions, and came to a treatment plan that would ease the pain. Letters were sent to my GP and to myself. I now have the treatment we discussed, and it is now starting to reduce the pain. Should I need to consult anyone over pain in the future, I would look to consult Dr Adedokun without hesitation.”

“Dr Joshua Adedokun was originally treating me for a herniated right-side disc. The problem was I was having so much left side pain. I had tried so much physio, and yet I was still in so much pain. Dr Adedokun was kind, patient and listened to what all my symptoms were. After his recommendation I swapped physios.
Even though I asked Dr Adedokun if it would be appropriate for me to have a steroid injection to improve my symptoms, he advised against it as it could escalate the problem further.
After more pelvic and bowel related symptoms, Dr Adedokun suggested I see another specialist in case I had other underlying problems. My second physio after another 3 months’ worth of treatment said the same thing.
I just wanted to thank you to Dr Adedokun for convincing me not to try a steroid injection or stronger painkillers, because it ended up that after having an MRI scan on my pelvis and then laparoscopy surgery - they found severe endometriosis, and some of the tissue had to be removed off my nerves in the rectal area. The surgeon said it would explain why I found walking it water so hard and nerve triggering. Also, because I have a womb that tilts to the left, my bowels and bladder were really tightly compact in that area.
I’m to see my doctor in 6 weeks as I am now recovering from that surgery, but it explains a lot of the inflammation and pelvic and glute pain I was getting. They have found two small fibroids also and one large one that’s difficult to get to at the back of my cervix which still may cause me problems, but that’s the next step on whether I would like that to be removed with surgery and what the consequences would be.
Thank you to Dr Adeokun for being so patient and understanding during this whole process. It’s terrifying experiencing nerve pain, especially when it is debilitating and getting in the way of normal activities such as sitting and walking. Hopefully now I’m on the right journey with another diagnosis, and hopefully my right side with the herniated disc doesn’t cause any issues and maybe finally shrinks back, since the pain of that problem seemed to be resolved, I hope it stays that way.
I hope now after I’m able to start having specific post-surgery pelvic physiotherapy to strengthen those areas again after so much inflammation, as it’s been about a year since sitting became so difficult.
A huge thank you for the care I received whilst going through uncertain times. I really appreciate all the advice that was given and especially not to take a higher drug dose as I now know it would have made things so much worse.”
